The story of the Igbo Diaspora Cultural Heritage Festival 2017 coming up September 1-3 in Maryland USA has saturated the Nigerian media adding to the importance and significance of this historical event. The purpose of this world class event is to drum up support, publicity and strategies to stem the demise of Igbo language and culture.

The event takes place at the Best Western Hotel at 5910 Princes Garden Parkway Lanham Maryland outside Washington DC. The big day is Saturday September 2, with many kinds of entertainment, cultural dances, masquerade dances, men, women and Children dances, Igbo language workshops, Gala night and Banquet and the popular Igbo Traditional wear competition for men and women. Over 20 pretty Igbo women have already signed up for this extraordinary competition, and 5 handsome men have also signed up as well.
