Two Niger Delta Militant Groups Declare War on Nigerian Fed. Government

Two Niger Delta Militant groups have declared war on the Federal Government of Nigeria over non release of Nnamdi Kanu, the IPOB leader. The two groups, Concerned Militant Leaders (CML) and Niger Delta People’s Democratic Front (NDPDF) issued the warnings on February 20, in Port Harcourt, Rivers state. The groups led by General Ben (CML) and Precious Iyoyo (aka General Playboy) issued separate statements alleging that the Federal government is out to draw Nigeria into a war situation.

They also warned that if the Federal government uses masked witnesses to testify in court during the Kanu trials that they are prepared to enter into battle with the Federal government of Nigeria once more.

General Ben of the CML also warned that their 31 Days ultimatum and deadline for the federal government to release Nnamdi Kanu will expire on February 22nd, and those warnings would be matched by action. They said they will attack the Federal government installations in Anambra state, Abia state and Abuja among other targets where according to them the blood of their Biafran brothers and sisters was shed.

They said in a statement, “We are not going to attack the civilians per se; but we are going to attack the presence of the Federal Government in the areas. If President Buhari could not clear Boko Haram in six months, as he told Nigerians, why didn’t he focus attention on the North? Why did he waste the blood of Biafrans people?”
