IMO State To Send Delegates to Igbo Diaspora Cultural Heritage Festival/Summit 2017

Imo State government will be sending representatives to the 1st Igbo Diaspora Cultural Heritage Festival coming up Sept 1-3, 2017 in Maryland/Washington DC. The good news reached us through Chief Chima Onyeagbau Umealo who is our Johannesburg South Africa based Africa Continental Director for the Festival. According to Chief Umealo, the list of Imo State Delegates was received from the Imo State SSA to the Speaker of the House, Chief Smart Okeugiri, former Ohaneze South Africa President.

From the event Planning Committee’s perspective, this is great news that our people are recognizing the importance of this 1st  Igbo Diaspora Cultural Heritage Festival/Summit event. The Planning Committee is also sending invitations to Abia State Government, Anambra State Government, Enugu State Government, Ebonyi State Government, Rivers State Government, Anioma Community of Delta State, Ohaneze Ndigbo and others.

Nearly 20 Igbo Diaspora organizations are partnering in this unprecedented event. Full List of the participating organizations would be published in due course. If your organization wants to be a part of this great event please contact us immediately.Next year in 2018, the event would be hosted in Boston Massachusetts, by the great Igbo Union Community of New England, to be followed by a coalition of Igbo organizations hosting the 2019 event in Atlanta Georgia.
