ABW Editorial-The Cattle Colony matter is a non issue from our perspective. Nigerian Government should not meddle into Private citizen’s affairs and business. The Nigerian Cattle industry should study and look at how civilized societies raise and sell cattle meat to see if they can learn one or two things from them. The business of the Nigerian  government here has to do with saving human lives from the criminal Cattle Herdsmen who are illegally armed with automatic weapons while the government looks the other way. We applaud our citizens and their leadership in the South West,  Benue and Taraba States who have rejected this silly idea outright. Ndigbo must learn how to issue powerful and straightforward statement against this terrible idea. The statement from Ohanaeze Ndigbo through the Igbo Leaders of Thought (ILT) is insufficient to say the least. Whether there is population explosion, or gully erosion in the South East or not, our Igbo leaders must outwardly reject this bad idea and let the Nigerian Cattle industry, figure out how to raise cattle and deliver to the market without causing the nightmare and slaughter of innocent citizens. It is the sworn duty of the Nigeria government to protect lives of all citizens period. Enough is Enough!
